About Us

KZN HI was created to honor our father and the way he lived his life, centered around the idea of kaizen, the Japanese philosophy of continuous improvement. After he passed in early 2023, we wanted to carry on his legacy through something meaningful.

Born and raised on Oahu, our dad spent most of his life at the beach with his brothers, family and friends. Whether he was fishing, diving or surfing, the ocean was a huge part of who he was. He took great pride in being a Japanese/Hawaiian local boy and loved representing both sides of his culture.

Through KZN HI, our goal is to create comfortable, affordable beachwear while sharing the values and wisdom he lived by with the people of the Hawaiian Islands.
